Entrepreneurial Loan Program
Criteria for Application
Applicant must be a member of the Section on Geriatrics for 2 years prior to the submission of the loan application and will maintain membership during the period of the loan.
Applicant must provide a plan for the non-traditional practice area that is fully developed and ready to implement. The plan must include the following:
a. a needs assessment
b. a timetable for implementation
c. a description of the nature of the services offered
d. a financial planApplicant demonstrates ability to carry out the described plan
Although not required, the loan repayment can be reduced:
- $300 if the borrower has an article published in GERINOTES describing the new practice setting in which they are involved.
- $700 if the borrower presents a poster at either Combined Sections or Annual Conference describing the new practice setting in which they are involved.
- $1,200 if the borrower presents a platform presentation at either Combined Sections or Annual Conference describing the new practice setting in which they are involved.
Application Procedure

- The Finance Committee will meet at CSM and report their recommendation to the Board of Directors at the second board meeting at CSM annually. The Section may award one loan per year. The loan will be awarded at the Section Member’s Meeting at Annual Conference.
